SOUTH BEND-Antonio Gabino Ramirez, 82, passed away peacefully August 17, 2017, after a lengthy illness.He was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina on February 19, 1935. He married his former wife, Cheryl Forizs on February 19, 1978. They remained close friends. Also left to cherish his memory are two children, Cheryl (Charles) Steinhofer of South Bend and Antonio (Jennifer) Ramirez, Jr. of Virginia; five grandchildren, Luis (Tahlor), Mariyah, and Charliesa Steinhofer, Kayla (Derrick) Armstrong, and Tierra Ramirez; one great-grandson, Jace Alexander; and one more great-grandchild on the way. He is also survived by three step-daughters, Dawn Bonney, Michelle (Joe) Kretchmer and Julie (Martin) Bonney; and nine step-grandchildren, Christopher Browne, Kelli Browne, Anna Golinski, John Golinski, Ashley (Mark) Grosenbacher, Michael Garcia, Chelsea Garcia, Stephanie (Ryan) Debor, and Justin Kretchmer.Tony was full of life. He loved dancing, talking to people, bowling and was kind and helpful to everyone he met. He always had a smile on his face. He was a huge Cubs and Bears fan, and also liked Notre Dame. He will be dearly missed.A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held on September 9th at 5:00 p.m. at Ardmore-LaSalle Church of Christ, 55501 Moss Rd, South Bend, IN 46628.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Ardmore-LaSalle Church of Christ.
