Barbara J. Luecht

ELKHART-Mrs. Barbara Jean (Koontz) Luecht, 98, passed away peacefully in her sleep early Friday morning in her residence at Hubbard Hill Estates.Barbara was born on March 21, 1924 to the late Carlton L. and Ruth (Rudnick) Koontz in Elkhart where she was a lifelong resident. On August 14, 1948 she was married to Loren Lee Luecht who passed away on February 29, 2016. Left to cherish her memory are: a son William A. (Patricia) Luecht of Danville, IN and Birch Lake, Michigan; a daughter Laura (Richard) Baumer of Huber Heights, Ohio; a granddaughter Katherine Luecht of West Lafayette, IN; two grandsons: John Luecht of Danville and Nathan Baumer of Huber Heights. Mrs. Luecht worked as an Insurance Agent at Midwest Commerce Bank retiring in 1984. She was an avid reader, loved to travel, and enjoyed: sewing, knitting, music and playing Bridge. Visitation will be held Monday from 5-7pm and a funeral to celebrate her life will be held at 11:00am EST, Tuesday Sept. 27th, all at McGann Hay Funerals - Cremations - Gatherings, Granger Chapel, 13260 SR 23, Granger, IN, Rev.
