Bernadette Marie Hock, 86, passed away unexpectedly December 29, 2020.
Born April 15, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Rettig) Heinerich.
On October 10, 1953, Bernadette married the love of her life, William “Bill” Hock. He preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death two beloved children; Brenda Marie Heppenheimer, and William Francis Hock; and seven siblings: Mary Wishin, Clara Moody, John and Herb Heinerich, Theresa Melton, Edna Curran and Ann Lewis.
Bernadette will be greatly missed by her son: Daniel (Shannon Hiatt) Hock of Mishawaka, IN; daughter-in-law, Sara Jean (the late William Jr.) Goldstone; grandson: Joshua Heppenheimer of Indianapolis, IN; brother-in-law, Ron Curran of Mishawaka, sisters-in-law, Minerva Heinerich of San Diego, CA, and Evelyn Hock and Angie Steininger, both of South Bend; and many nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her beloved Cocker Spaniel companion, Jody.
Bernadette was a loving and devoted wife and mother. She was an avid gardener, and loved watching the birds in their birdhouses. She also loved watching all Notre Dame games. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Therese Little Flower Catholic Church on Tuesday, January 5, at 12:00 p.m., with visitation one hour prior in the church. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
