Left to cherish his memory are three children: Brad (Carissa) Lekarczyk of South Bend, Nicole (Erich) Lekarczyk of Osceola and Matt (Maricela) Lekarczyk of South Bend; four siblings: Linda Wilson of Morganton, NC, Debbie Lekarczyk of Noblesville, IN, Lori (Mark) Galyean of Westfield, IN, and Greg Lekarczyk of South Bend; and three grandchildren, who were the apple of his eye: Locklynn, Casimir and Hudson, and one on the way.
Bert was diagnosed with MS in his 30’s but decided to make the best of it, and not let it negatively affect his life. He was positive, active, opinionated, fun and loved his family more than anything. He made many friends along the way. He graduated from Washington High School and received a bachelor’s degree from Wabash College, where he also played football. He was an avid Chicago Bears fan and a fanatic for Fantasy Football. He won the league several years in a row. He will be greatly missed by many and his determination will never be forgotten.
