Bonnie Marie Grow

GRANGER-Bonnie Marie Grow, 94, passed away peacefully at Memorial Hospital on the morning of October 25, 2022, after a brief illness.

Born in Whitewater, Wisconsin, on May 22, 1928, she was the daughter of Ruth Ann Gillespie Traxler and Melvin Franklin Traxler.

Bonnie graduated from College High School in Whitewater and attended Wisconsin State University of Whitewater.

On June 5, 1948, she married Ronald Eugene Grow in Beloit, Wisconsin, and the couple moved to Des Moines, Iowa.

In 1952, Dr. & Mrs. Grow moved to South Bend, Indiana, where she became active in the Auxiliary to the American Osteopathic Association and served as its president for two years.  Bonnie enjoyed working out, riding bikes and playing cards with friends.  However, her greatest enjoyment was her family and home.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald, of seventy years; her mother and father; three sisters;two brothers and granddaughter, Haley Ratajczak.

Surviving are four daughters; Susan (Jeff) Erickson, Debra (Dr. Michael McCaffery) George, Patricia Grow, and Marcy (Douglas Dorman) Grow-Dorman, and two sons; Jeffrey Grow and Douglas (Jennifer) Grow. Also surviving are nine grandchildren, Jessica (Eric) Sessions, Thomas J. Knapp, Peter John (Kacey) George III, Courtney (Steve) Roach, Philip (Lori) Burbrink, Garrett (Ashley) Hatfield, Jourdin Byler, Rilynd Byler,and Savannah Pieper; her niece, Shirley Traxler;twelve great grandchildren and her closest friend, Janette Penzenik.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 28 at 11AM, with visitation one hour prior, at the McGann Hay, Granger Chapel, 13260 SR 23, enter off Cherry Rd. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park.
