Chester Clark Gilmore, Jr., 58, reunited with his wife, Arletha, on Tuesday, Oct. 30th.
He was born in South Bend on March 26, 1960 to Chester Gilmore Sr. and Effie (Williams) Rodgers.
Chester celebrated 37 wonderful years with the love of his life, Arletha Lee, before she preceded him in death May 3, 2017. His father, Chester Gilmore, Sr.; son, Chester Gilmore, III; and sister, Deborah Williams, also preceded him in death.
Left to cherish his memory are: 4 children: Kinyon (Lisa) Lee, Jordan (Chanze) Gilmore and Chris (Cynthia) Gilmore, all of South Bend, and Dicel Ith-Gilmore of Danbury, CT; and mother, Effie Rodgers; sisters, Rhonda Nicks and Kelly Rodgers; and special nephew, Derrick Rodgers, all of South Bend. 10 loving grandchildren, and a host of special friends and other family members, also survive him.
Chester proudly served in the Army and was honorably discharged in 1979. He had many hobbies, but none greater than spending time with the center of his life, his wife Arletha. Chester also had a great love for music, religion, and making sure his loved ones were taken care of. While we will greatly miss him, we are comforted in knowing he is with his wife and son, whom he missed so much.
Chester requested that there be no services.
