Clara M. (Rice) Riggs

Clara M (Singleton) (Rice) Riggs passed away on September 3, 2022 at the age of 79. She was born in South Bend, IN on April 2, 1943 to the late Charles and Lovina (Philips) Singleton.Clara is survived by her daughter, Jill Marie (Wesley) Sparrow; son, Joey Riggs; sister, Dorothy Grenert; brothers: Walter, William, Ronald, and Jack Singleton; and numerous nieces and nephews.She is preceded in death by sisters: Ruby Jones, Shirley Brown, Alice Cox, Delores Helfman, and Rose Grenert; brothers: Kenneth, Charles, Lester, and Edward Singleton.Clara was a long time member of the Clay Township Civic and Democratic Club. She also enjoyed playing bingo and going to the casino.Visitation will take place at the McGann Hay, University Chapel, 2313 E. Edison Rd., South Bend, IN 46615, on Wednesday, August 7, 2022 from 4:30 - 7:30 P.M.A Mass of Catholic Burial will take place on Thursday, September 8 2022 at St. Therese Little Flower Catholic Church, 54191 N. Ironwood Rd. South Bend, IN 46635, at 12:00 P.M. with visitation beginning at 11:00 A.M.
