David Keith Bullard passed away peacefully at the age of 80 with his family at his side. He was born in Compton, California to the late Stanley and Mildred (Smith) Bullard.
David married the Julie Ann Jurek on November 24, 1979. She survives him. Also surviving are son, Kieffer (Kathy) Tarbell of Gresham, OR; step-son, Daryl Zernick of South Bend, IN; grandchildren, Kastle (Seth) Likens of Sisters, OR and Geddy (Jme) Tarbell of Sandy, OR; great grandchildren: Montana, Pacific, Trilliun, Araya and Malita; sister, Betty (Dallas) Reynolds of Sequim, WA; sisters-in-law, Gloria Bullard and Corrine (Phil) Moore; and many nieces and nephews.
David was preceded in death by his brothers, Stan and Robert.
David served his country in the Navy and ultimately the Vietnam War. He belonged to the Vietnam Veterans Association and was a member of the burial squad with American Legions 360 and 161. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus and was involved with several ministries at St. Pius X Catholic Church.
My Uncle David passed away Friday.
This man was ‘one of a kind’. He had a big personality - loved to laugh (even cry), always telling jokes, endless stories (some on repeat), singing with his deep baritone voice, enjoyed the outdoors (loved a good bonfire) and was extremely handy.
He was generous. He was kind. He loved being around people. He never met a stranger and welcomed everyone into his home with open arms.
He simply loved living life!
There is no other person that would teach a young kid how to make drinks (“glug, glug”) at a ND tailgate (he made family tip me well!) and learn all the words to the song You Got to Have Skin (look it up!). I’m glad you made me sing it with you last fall.
Thank you for the memories. Rest in peace. Your big presence in this family will be missed.
