Dennis J. Farrar

Dennis J. Farrar was born in South Bend on October 23, 1952 to Rosemary and Myron Farrar, and died on November 20, 2017 at Hospice House in South Bend.
He is survived by his daughters, of whom he was extremely proud: Heather Ryan of St. Louis, Missouri; and Molly Farrar of South Bend; his two grandchildren, Patrick and Rose Ryan; and his siblings, Tim Farrar of Granger, Indiana; Jim Farrar of Modesto, California; and Patricia Courtney of Indianapolis.
Dennis spent the majority of his adult life working in retail sales, starting his career at Seeley's Boot Shop, a long-time South Bend children's shoe store owned by his parents. For the past five years, he worked in sales at Jordan Automotive Group in Mishawaka, a position he both excelled at and enjoyed. Many of his coworkers and customers became cherished friends.
A diehard Cubs fan as well as "Deadhead," in his younger days, Dennis also was known as quite a dancer, and probably kicked up his heels as his parents welcomed him home when he passed from this world to the next.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, November 25th from 2 to 4 p.m. at McGann Hay Funeral Home in Granger. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations sent to the Center for Hospice Care.
