Donald "Donny" Fred Daly, 65, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, October 26, 2017 at IU Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.
Don was born on March 2nd, 1952 in Mishawaka, Indiana to Richard and Norma (Vanator) Daly. His father and sister, Shirley Jay, predeceased him.
On September 15, 1984 in Mishawaka he married the love of his life, the former Charmayne Sue Nasco. They were married for 33 wonderful years. She is left to cherish his memory and lives in Edwardsburg along with their two children: a daughter Courtney (Matthew) Lamberton of Battle Creek, MI, and their son Barrett age 1 1/2 ; a son Marshall R. Daly of Edwardsburg; his mother, Norma Daly of Edwardsburg; brothers: Ronald (Linda) Daly of Osceola, Richard Daly Jr. of South Bend, Craig Daly of Mishawaka, and Michael Daly of Mishawaka; a sister, Patty (Danny) Soos of South Bend; many nieces and nephews and countless friends and associates.
Don was committed to his family first. His wife Charmayne, daughter Courtney, son Marshall, son in law Matt, and grandson Barrett were truly the joy of his life. He loved having his dogs, Chloe and Kirby, sit on his lap when he got home from work. Don was the owner of Eagle Lake Marine of Michigan, Inc. for 36 years; and he loved his work. Many a day he could be seen driving around Eagle Lake and enjoying the lake life or driving his tractor all around the marina. Don also enjoyed watching Nascar and Notre Dame football. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
A Celebration of Don's life will be held on Wednesday November 1st in Elkhart at Center Six One Five event center, 2707 County Road 15, Elkhart, IN 46514, with a time to visit with his family from 10:00am until the Celebration begins at Noon, Rick Cave will officiate the event. Cremation is being handled by McGann Hay' Funerals / Cremations / Gatherings, Granger Chapel and their American Cremation Society, South Bend.
