GRANGER - Darley Monday Emenim, MD, passed away unexpectedly Thursday morning at home.Darley Monday Emenim, MD, passed away unexpectedly Thursday morning at home.
Dr. Emenim was born on April 13, 1964 in Agbor, Nigeria to the late Pa Felix Emenim Enyagberue and Margaret (Aghabon) Enyagberue. In June of 1997 in Lagos, Nigeria he married Magdalene Adaobi (Adinlofu) Emenim.
Dr. Emenim was a board-certified Pediatrician and board - certified Pediatric Intensivist. He was a former staff of PICU at Memorial Children's Hospital of South Bend IN, and at Lafayette General Hospital in Louisiana. Darley had part time positions with Baton Rough General in Louisiana and at Alexan Brothers Medical Center in Elk Groove Village, IL, at the time of his death. He graduated from St. Columbus High School Agbor, Nigeria, and Obafemi Awolowo University Ile-Ife for his Medical Degree in Nigeria also. He did his residency in Pediatrics at Howard University Hospital, Washington, DC. He proceeded to Dallas Children's Hospital in Texas for fellowship in Critical kids. Darley enjoyed his bedside work at the hospital. He loved woodworking, playing the piano and guitar, and doing yard work; but above all, he loved spending time with his family.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Meg; and two children: daughter, Ekachi 16, and Nonso 15, all of Granger Indiana; three sisters, Mrs. Vero Ekpenike and Mrs. Nkem Egbon, both of Nigeria, and Rosemary Emenim of Canada; and brother, Peter Enyagberue of Nigeria.
Funeral services to celebrate Dr. Darley’s life will be held Saturday, May 13th at 11:30am at Calvary Chapel, 53494 Fir Rd, Granger, with Pastor Bob Moore officiating. Friends may come from 10 - 11:30am in the church prior to the funeral service. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery, at Main and Jefferson, Mishawaka. McGann Hay Funerals / Cremations / Gatherings, Granger Chapel was entrusted with the arrangements.
