Edward Charles Lower

Edward Charles Lower, 83, passed away peacefully in his home on September 28, 2017.
He was born January 17, 1934 to the late Boyd "Pat" and Mary Jane (Fouts) Lower. His son, Patrick Lower; and siblings, Vera, Clyde, Danny, Lawrence, and Boyd, also preceded him in death.
On October 31, 1952, Ed married Joan Miller. She survives. Also left to cherish his memory are two daughters, Pamela (James) Cool of Granger and Diann (Michael) Linback of Niles; son, Brian (Lesa McDonald) Lower of Granger; eight grandchildren, Melissa (Jeb) McNally, Ashley (Chris) Femia, Ian Lower, Travis Cool, Michael Jr. (Laura Lee) Linback, Paige Linback, Vanesa (Phil) Hawkey and Troy (Sheri) Lower; sister, Pearl Bottorff; and 7 great-grandchildren.
Edward made many friends during his business ventures with his wife, Joan. They ran Lower Brothers Market, Eddie's Thrift Way in Cassopolis, Granger Meat Market, Park Shore Marina, Granger Tap & Grill, The Rib Shack and Eddie's Steak Shed. Ed was voted and was proud to have been honorary Mayor of Granger.
The family would like to thank the wonderful nurses from the Center for Hospice Care, Tracey Freeze and Kristy Zickefoose. He loved them both.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 4 from 5-8 p.m. at the McGann Hay, Granger Chapel, 13260 SR 23, enter off Cherry Rd. The funeral will be Thursday at the funeral home at 11 a.m., with visitation one hour prior. Rev. Arlin Cochran will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park.
