Edwin Anthony Hickey, 80, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, August 20. He was
born in South Bend, Indiana, on December 7, 1940 to the late Anthony E. and Mary (Tschida) Hickey.
Left to cherish Ed’s memory are his wife, Mary; children: Christopher (Cheryl) Hickey, Marie
(David) Shelton, Rebecca (Thomas) Kiser and Joseph Hickey; stepchildren, Kelly Mattos and Billie Warren; 3 brothers, George, Kenneth and Dennis Hickey; 13 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Ed was preceded in death by 9 siblings; and stepdaughter, Stephanie Guernsey.
Ed had a deep appreciation of the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, watching westerns, and was a lifelong Chicago Cubs and Green Bay Packers fan. He spent time playing golf, pool and bingo when in Las Vegas, and he enjoyed listening to the blues. Ed loved to tell a good story, which was usually followed by a hearty laugh. He was a loving and generous person and will be missed by so many.
A Celebration of Life will take place on Thursday, August 26, 2021 at 7:15 p.m. with visitation starting at 6 p.m. at the McGann Hay University Chapel, 2313 E. Edison Rd. South Bend, IN.
