Elizabeth O’Connor

Elizabeth O’Connor, of Mishawaka, passed away peacefully. Loving mother of Neil (Ellen) Cossman, Judith (Richard) Herbstman, Gayle (Neil Douglas) Cossman, the late Diane Sager, and her former spouse Stephen Sager. Devoted grandmother of Lisa Ignasiak, Laurie Pearce, Gregory (Nadia) Sager, Eric (Anna Rienhardt) Sager, Matthew Cossman, and Michael (Theresa) Cossman. Adored by 17 great-grandchildren. Elizabeth was sister to the late Emily Singer and the late Carl Vidor. She was married to the late Isadore Cossman and the late Charles O’Connor. Elizabeth was loved by all who knew her. She had a wonderful dry humor that kept everyone laughing. Elizabeth was an inspiration to her entire family. She was a strong woman with a kind, generous heart. Her home was the gathering place for extended family on special occasions. She enjoyed tutoring in the elementary schools, gardening, and using her artistic talent. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Her funeral service will be at 1:00pm Friday April 20 at the Hebrew Orthodox Cemetery Chapel, Mishawaka, with Rabbi Shoshanna Fefferman, Rabbi at Temple Israel, Valparaiso, officiating, In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund Alliance, P.O.Box 32141, NY, NY or ocrfa.org.
