Eric T. Montgomery Crumley

SOUTH BEND – Eric T. Montgomery Crumley, 36, passed away at Memorial Hospital ICU on January 15, 2021, after an extensive illness.Eric was born 2.5 months premature in South Bend, IN on April 27, 1984 to Kenny and Cindy Montgomery.  His parents comforted Eric as he slowly respired peacefully with his last smile.Eric's older brother, Ryan (Gina) Montgomery of Osceola; and his maternal grandfather, Jim Crumley of South Bend, also survive to cherish our loving memories of Eric.Eric was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Gerry Crumley, who was waiting for Eric with open arms.  Also preceding Eric's death are his paternal grandparents, Gene and Vera Montgomery.Eric appreciated the simple pleasures of life without any complaints.  Eric's smile and joyful personality would easily brighten your mood as your best buddy.  Eric was elated at family birthday parties and his Clay High School graduation celebration.Eric enjoyed dancing to music, gardening with Grandpa Jim, helping Grandma Gerry with chores, and watching cartoons.  He would roar with laughter while throwing ball to our dogs and sitting on his whoopee cushion. Eric often played with magnet toys on our kitchen table.Benchmark Human Services provided loving care for Eric prior to his hospital stay. Benchmark group home and day program gave Eric special attention to support his medically fragile complex needs.Eric is no longer burdened with his ongoing severe illness battles.  Eric is beginning his new peaceful life with his Grandma Gerry. Eric's ashes will be a blessed memorial at his family's home.
