Frank James Weaver, 76, passed away on April 20, 2022, with his family by his side. Frank was born on September 24, 1945 in Sturgis, Michigan to the late Wiler David and Mona Marjorie (Murray) Weaver.
Frank is survived by his children, Mark of McCall, Idaho and Amy Schreiner of Tucson, Arizona; grandson, Jacob Schreiner of Tucson, Arizona; sister, Sharon (Steve) Bowen of Shipshewana Indiana; and brother Maurice of Shipshewana, Indiana; sister-in-law, Shirley of Osceola, Indiana and many nieces and nephews.
Frank was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Corinne; and his brother, Larry of Osceola, Indiana.
Frank was a member of 4H for 12 years, graduated Shipshewana Scott High School in 1963, received a bachelor's degree from Taylor University in 1967 and a master's degree from Ball State in 1970. He also received his CPA Certificate in 1972 and maintained that certification until his retirement in May of 2021. Frank was also a member of the Indiana Freemasons Tyrian Lodge in Goshen, IN since 2004. Frank started his own accounting firm Frank J. Weaver & Co., CPA in 1979 and owned it until 2003, after which he sold to his longtime employee, Julie DeFreese. He worked along side her until his retirement in 2021.
Frank was beloved for his kind and generous nature. He devoted countless hours to setting up Garage Sales and Antique Shows in support of his wife. His friends enjoyed his keen wit and hearty laughter. Frank liked to stay busy! You could often find him behind the wheel of his riding mower maintaining his property with meticulous care. His clients appreciated his legendary work ethic. When he did take time to relax, Frank enjoyed spending weekends at the lake and attending performances in Shipshewana. His humor, honesty, and goodness will be sorely missed by those who knew him.
Visitation for Frank will take place at the McGann Hay, Granger Chapel on Sunday from 4-7 p.m. Funeral services will take place at Clay United Methodist Church at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, with visitation one hour prior in the church. Burial will follow at South Colon Cemetery, located in Colon, MI at 2:30 p.m.
