‘Hallelujah, she's home!' Gloria Lynn (Goss) DeBuysser, 76, returned to her Lord on March 16, 2018, after an extended illness. Faith, family and friends were the unwavering foundation of her life. Love, joy and laughter made her glow. A beloved wife to Robert; cherished mother of Sherri (McLochlin) McDonald and Mark and Connie McLochlin; and treasured ‘Grandma' of Christopher McDonald, Mark (Meghan) McLochlin, Colin McDonald, Christyn McLochlin and Devon McLochlin, Gloria's spirit lives on in those she loved and guided.
Born March 1, 1942 in Mishawaka, IN to Jeanette and Harry Goss, who preceded her to Heaven, along with her sister, Sally (John) McConnell; and niece, Jenni Goss Ritchie, Gloria leaves brothers and sisters-in-law, Ron and Connie Goss, Kent and Nancy Goss, and Lynn Meek; as well as many nieces and nephews; and countless friends she called "chosen family."
For nearly 50 years, Gloria was a devoted member of the Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer, South Bend, after growing up a St. Paul's Lutheran Church, South Bend. A career as a bookkeeper in the travel industry at Travelmore/Carlson Wagonlit kept her busy and took her on adventures, until her retirement saw her happily caring for and creating adventures with her grandkids. She loved RV'ing with her husband, festivals, and card clubs. She was a tireless volunteer and former Camp Fire Girls leader. Her sense of humor, craft and sewing projects, kitchen concoctions, and creative parties made hers a very happy life to share.
Visitation will be Saturday, March 24th at 10:00 a.m., followed by a memorial service at 11:00 a.m. at the Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer, 805 S. 29th St., South Bend, IN, ph. 574-288-8288.
Gloria believed we're called to be angels (her favorite collectable) here, before becoming the real thing, as she now has. So, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to help Resurrection Lutheran Academy, 6840 Nimtz Pkwy, South Bend, IN 46628, or a charity of the giver's choice, are requested.
The family would like to give a special thank you to the wonderful staff at Heart to Heart Hospice for their compassionate help and care.
Now her good-bye to you all: "I'll be waiting for you. The best is yet to be! Peace."
