Helen Louise Richards, 93, passed away peacefully on March 6, 2018 in Granger, Indiana.
She was born in Peru, Indiana to Arna and Georgia Callahan, January 2, 1925. It was there in Peru, where she met the love of her life, Donald, who preceded her in death. Also preceding Helen in death, was her daughter, Sherry.
Left to cherish her memory are: her son, Tom (Deborah) Richards; son in-law, Irwin (the late Sherry) Hodgetts; granddaughter, Andrea Hodgetts; grandsons: Tom Hodgetts, Reggie Richards, Matthew (Sara) Richards, Mark (Sheila) Richards, and Cory Richards.
When Donald and Helen were first married, he went to the war and she worked as a ‘Rosie the Riveter' making bullets. Helen loved to quilt. She was a Sunday School Teacher; and was a volunteer with Prison Ministry, as well as the Dismas House. Helen will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
At a later date, the family will have a private service, and ask that donations in Helen's name, be made to the Center for Hospice Care, 501 Comfort Place, Mishawaka, IN 46545.
