Helene Herson

Chicago, formerly of South Bend-Helene Herson, 98, passed away peacefully August 11, 2019.She was born September 18, 1920 in Paris, France, to the late Charles and Estelle (Poznansky)) Caplan. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Julian Herson in 2001.Left to cherish her memory are two sons, Mark Friedman of Kingston, NY and Lance Friedman of Chicago, IL.Helene was a loving and devoted mother. She enjoyed short-story writing, painting and fashion, especially clothing. She was a member of Temple Shalom in Chicago.Funeral services will be held Friday, August 13 at 1:00 in the chapel at the Hebrew Orthodox Cemetery, with Rabbi Michael Friedland officiating. Burial will immediately follow.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Jewish United Fund, Ben Gurion Way, 30 S. Wells Street, Chicago, IL 60606.
