Isabelle T. Stachowiak

November 12, 1928 — June 20, 2018

Isabelle Therese Stachowiak, 89, passed away unexpectedly June 20, 2018.
Born November 12, 1928 in Chicago, IL, she was the daughter of the late Julius and Martha (Wegner) Goszczynski.
On September 24, 1949, Isabelle married the love of her life, Marion Stachowiak. He preceded her in death in 2013. To their union, they were blessed with three children: Christopher (Lisabeth) Stachowiak of Lake Zurich, IL, Carol Anne (Ross) Smith of South Bend and Emily (Cody) Hammons of Sanger, TX. Isabelle was the proud grandmother of a granddaughter, Samantha (Alex) Loeb of Seattle, WA; and two grandsons: Brian Smith of Taos, NM and Neil Smith of South Bend.
Isabelle was an extremely devoted wife, mother and grandmother to the very end. She was a faithful follower of Jesus, and was a member of St. Anthony de Padua Catholic Church for more than 50 years. She was proud of becoming a Registered Nurse, having graduated in 1990, and she kept up her license even after retirement. Her family often called her with questions about symptoms and medications, and she could always provide an answer. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, June 25th at 11:00 a.m., with visitation one hour prior, at St. Anthony de Padua Catholic Church. Entombment will follow at St. Joseph Polish Cemetery, South Bend.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Susan G. Komen, Dept. 41831, P.O. Box 650309, Dallas, TX 75265 or to St. Anthony de Padua Catholic Church, 2114 E. Jefferson Blvd., South Bend, IN 46617.
