James Edsel Russell, 92, passed away peacefully at home Wednesday at 5:00pm.
Jim was born to the late Clark Lowell and Eva Viola (Wildermuth) Russell on February 7, 1925. He married Inez Mae (Pugh) Russell on January 17, 1945. They were married an amazing 72 years, she survives of Granger.
Others left to cherish his memory are his four daughters: Judy (Ron) Hoefle of Granger, Jan (Terry) Hartzler of Elkhart, Kim (Steve) Stacy of Granger and Terri (George) Schmidt of Bristol, IN; 9 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. A sister Nina Sanders of Mishawaka and a brother Tom (Karen) Russell of Valparaiso, IN. Two sister-in-laws Jackie Pugh of Culver, IN. and Marjorie McKinley of Naples, FL.
Mr. Russell was a successful Land Developer and owner of Terri Brooke Builders. Some of his subdivision developments include: Terri Brooke, Devonshire and Stoney Brooke Shores all in Granger. Earlier in his business career he owned Russell TV Repair and RETS Electronics School in South Bend. He was a United States WW II Air Force veteran. He loved spending time with his family.
Vistation for family and friends may call on Sunday from 4-7pm at the funeral home. Funeral services will be on Monday at 11:00am with visitation one hour prior from 10-11am at McGann Hay Funerals /Cremations / Gatherings, Granger Chapel, 13260 SR 23 enter off Cherry Rd., Rev. Adam Willis, Youth Pastor at River Valley Church, officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Gardens with Military Honors.
Memorial donations may be made in Jim's memory to the Alzheimers Association.
