Jamie Boland

d. December 12, 2018

James Carl Boland was born on Oct. 5, 1972. Growing up in Battle Creek, Michigan, Jamie was a natural athlete. He played floor hockey, football, baseball, and basketball. He graduated from Lakeview High School in 1991. He spent the last twenty years working for Farmers Insurance as a claims adjuster. His incredible work ethic inspired those around him.
Jamie had a deep love of music and enjoyed playing the guitar. He loved a good prank and was often instigating them. His funny wit made being around him truly enjoyable. He loved dogs, tattoos, going to the gun range, watching movies, and college football. He was possibly best known for his favorite annual tradition of dressing up in his gorilla suit for Halloween.
He married the love of his life, Denise, in 1995. They were high school sweethearts who spent almost thirty years together. They loved going to concerts together, spending time with their girls, and spending the day at Lake Michigan. They shared a deep faith in God.
Jamie adored his daughters: Kennedy, Cassidy, and Tatum (aka Tater Tot). There was not a thing he would not do for them. His girls meant the world to him.
Jamie is also survived by his mother, Cindie (Boland) Kloosterman (husband, Nelson); his brother, Jeffrey Boland (Suzanne Chatterton), and nephew, Johann Boland. His father, Ron, passed away in 2016.
A celebration of his life will be on Monday, December 17th at 11 AM at the McGannHay Funeral Home located at 13260 SR23, enter off Cherry Rd. in Granger, IN. The family will also receive visitors at the funeral home on December 16th from 4-7PM and before the funeral starting at 10 AM.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that family and friends contribute to Tatum’s college fund: ugift529.com , code: V1P-E79.
