Elkhart

Jean Louise Savage, 81, went to Jesus on Wednesday, April 5, 2023. She was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan on October 9, 1941 to the late John and Charlotte (Dell) Harrison.

Jean married Larry Savage on September 28, 1963 in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He survives. Together they had 2 sons, Michael (Rebecca) and David (Liesa) Savage; grandchildren: Jameson, Holly, Madelyn, Peter, Justin and Matthew Savage; sister, Katherine (Stanley) Moore; and many other family members.

She was preceded in death by grandsons, Jack and Nicholas Savage.

Jean lived her life for the Lord and was heavily involved in her church, Sunnyside Presbyterian, where she served as an Elder, was involved with the food pantry, Bell Choir and attended bible studies. She enjoyed quilting, sewing and reading, belonging to several book clubs.

Jean served the community as a pre-school teacher for more than 40 years. She would often see former students from years past who would remember her and say hello and share a smile.

She loved her family, especially her grandchildren and was strongly loved by them in return. She will be greatly missed by all.
