Jeanette H. Smith

MISHAWAKA, IN – Jeanette Helen Smith, 100, passed away peacefully Tuesday, with her family by her side. She was born June 30, 1918 in Detroit, MI, to the late Aldric Ouellette and Ella Ashton. Jeanette is survived by her son, Gary Sr. (Laura) Smith, of Granger, IN.Jeanette was a loving and caring grandmother to three grandchildren, Michelle (Adam) Waite, of South Bend, IN, Natalie (Dan) Hooley, of Niles, MI, and Gary Jr. (Dawn) Smith, of South Bend, IN.Jeanette was also a great-grandmother to three great-grandchildren, Lexy Balok, Drew and Abbie Waite. Jeanette is preceded in death by her husband, George Smith; one brother, Richard Ouellette; and one sister, Barbara Chrysler. Jeanette enjoyed reading, playing and watching golf, shopping on QVC, especially for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and loved doing crossword puzzles. There will be no visitation or service for Jeanette per her wishes. The family would like to thank Creekside Village for taking such great care of her.
