Jesse “Dale” Lowery

November 17, 1929 — July 19, 2016

Jesse "Dale" Lowery, 86, passed away peacefully July 19, 2016. He was born November 17, 1929 to the late Jess and Gretta (Minor) Lowery.
After the passing of his first wife and mother of his children, Joan Porter Lowery, Dale was given a second chance at love. On August 24, 1985, he married Louise (Weaver) Ferguson. She survives.
Also left to cherish his memory are four sons, Duane Lowery of New Carlisle, Steven Lowery of Granger, Danial (Laurie) Lowery of Marysville, IN, and Shawn Lowery of Fort Meyers, FL; two step-children, Kenny Ferguson of Portage, IN and Kari Po of Fort Wayne; two sisters, Freda (Ronald) Shafer of Texico, IL and Patsy Weems of Mt. Carmel, IL; and many loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. Two brothers, Clinton and Noble; and four sisters, Bernice and Wilma Donoho and Wava and Alma Blankenship also preceded him in death.
Dale proudly served our country in the Army as Sargent 1st class, tank commander and platoon leader in the Korean War. He was a 32nd Degree Mason, member of the Scottish Rite Lodge of South Bend, and the Orak Shrine in Michigan City. He was known by all as kind and generous, and a smart businessman. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He will be dearly missed.
Visitation will be today from 4-7PM, with the Masonic service at 7PM, at the McGann Hay Granger Chapel, 13260 SR 23, enter off Cherry Rd. Funeral services will be Saturday at the funeral home at 10AM. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Great Lakes Hospice, 900 Cooper Street, Jackson, Michigan 49202.
