John Gordon “Jack” Van De Walle, 67, passed away February 27, 2021, after a lengthy illness.
He was born in South Bend on April 15, 1953 to the late Lester and Joan (France) Van De Walle.
Left to cherish Jack’s memory are his two children, Alison Van De Walle of South Bend, IN and Matthew (Stacey) Van De Walle of Portland, OR; granddaughter, Ireland Grace Van De Walle of Portland, OR; and a grandson due in July; four sisters: Kathy (Robert Jones) Van De Walle of Iowa City, IA, Janet Armstrong of South Bend, IN, Jill (Harv) Hoffman of Cassopolis, MI, and Patty (Dave) Erkenbrack of Quechee, VT; and several loving nieces and nephews.
Jack was a graduate of John Adams High School, class of ’71, and later attended Southwestern Michigan College. He loved spending time with his children, fishing, cooking, barbecuing, and traveling. He played basketball in college, and enjoyed watching sports, being outdoors, and remodeling homes. He was a wonderful dad and friend to many. He will be greatly missed.
The family would like to thank his former wife, Judith Van De Walle, for her continued support and care of Jack through the last several years.
