Jonathan L. Jones

Jonathan Leroy Jones, 64, a life-long resident of the South Bend/Mishawaka area, passed away quietly in his sleep early Friday, June 21, 2024, at Woodland Manor, after battling cancer.  Jon was born on July 28, 1959, to the late Robert Jones and Rita (Jozwiak) Finley.  He was also preceded in death by a brother, Leroy.

Jon is survived by a brother, Duane (Donna) Jones; and two sisters, Bonnie Van De Voorde and Colleen Hammell.  Also surviving are three nieces, Heather Carlisle, Deanne (Larry) England, and Emily (Blaine) Thomas; two nephews, Dean (Jaime) and Daniel (Tosha) Jones, and several great nieces and nephews.

Jon attended Washington High School and received Associates degrees in Industrial Technology and HVAC from Ivy Tech State College.  He served in the Army and was proud to be a Veteran. He loved collecting bald eagle memorabilia and knives.  In addition to watching Notre Dame football, he enjoyed building models and jigsaw puzzles.  After cremation, he will be laid to rest at the Marion National Cemetery in Marion, Indiana.
