Joseph R. Raymond

SOUTH BEND - Joseph Robert Raymond, 67, passed away peacefully at 7:50am Tuesday, at the South Bend Hospice House with family by his side.Joe was born in Somerville, NJ on August 17, 1952 to the late Prof. Vincent Robert and Lisa (Vaida) Raymond. On November 24, 1972 in South Bend he married the love of his life the former Carol (Hardman) Raymond, who survives in South Bend.Along with his wife he leaves behind to cherish his memory three sons: Joshua (Elizabeth) of Seattle, WA, Joseph, and Anthony "Tony" (Stacy) Raymond both of South Bend. Three sisters: Mary (Kevin Jones) Raymond, Lily (William Schmidt) Raymond, and Katherine (Jerry Michel) Raymond and two brothers: Mike (Susie) of Cornelius, NC and Marc (Suzanne) Raymond of South Bend. Besides his parents he was also predeceased by his oldest brother Steve (Linda) in September 2016.Joe had a long and successful career as a Professional Photographer and could be seen roaming the Notre Dame sidelines during football games as well as many other events within the Michiana area and beyond. He was a 1970 graduate of John Adams High School and a 1974 graduate of the University of Notre DameThe family will have a celebration of Joe's life from 2-4pm Sunday at The McGann Hay University Chapel, 2313 E. Edison Rd., near Ironwood. Memorial Donations in Joe's memory may be directed to the American Cancer Society or the Center for Hospice Care.
