Joseph William Wonderly

Joseph William Wonderly, 85 passed away peacefully surrounded by family in his home on July 8, 2022. He was born to the late Robert Charles and Doris (Richardson) Wonderly on January 11, 1937 in Huntington, IN.Joe is survived by his wife of more than 60 years, Caroline; their children, Paul (Paige) Wonderly, Brian (Kathy) Wonderly and Amy (Tom) Beaven; Grandchildren: Aaron (Brenda) Wonderly, Cory (Kelsie) Wonderly, Ben Beaven and Jon Beaven; sister, Carla (David) Gibson; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.Joe served in the Navy during peacetime and was a loyal Bears, Cubs, and Notre Dame fan.He had the best sense of humor and loved telling jokes, lovingly nicknamed "Joker Joe." Joe was an avid golfer and loved to fish and play euchre. He was a faithful member and Lector of St. Pius where he guided new couples through pre cana classes, and was a weekly volunteer at St. Vincent De Paul.He was a dedicated and loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. He never forgot a birthday, Anniversary or any special occasion. Joe was always there. He enjoyed taking pictures and taking care of the family history, but his greatest love was Caroline and his family.Visitation for Joe will be held at the McGann Hay, Granger Chapel, 13260 SR 23 (enter at Cherry Rd.) on Wednesday, July 13, 2022 from 4-7pm. A vigil will take place at 4 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Thursday, July 14, 2022 at 11 a.m. with visitation one hour prior, at St. Pius X Catholic Church, Granger.In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Traditions Hospice, 1820 E.
