Julius Mikulak

Julius E. "Jay" Mikulak, 94, passed away peacefully in his home on Sunday, April 23rd.
Julius was born on March 5, 1923 to the late William & Rose Mikulak. Julius was one of four children: Virginia Krizmanich, Jean Chandler and William all deceased.
In 1947 Julius married Mary A. Frank she passed away on August 23, 2007 and they had five sons: Christopher who passed away on October 18, 2010, Stephen (Darlene) South Bend, John of San Francisco, CA, Phillip (Vicki) of Granger, & Peter (Dana) of South Bend.
Also left to cherish his memory are two grandsons: Jeffrey (Katie) Mikulak and their son Zachary Mikulak all of Fishers, IN and Kevin Mikulak of South Bend.
Julius served in the Army during WWII. He graduated from Purdue University with an Engineering degree. He worked at Studebaker, Bendix an AM General for many years. After retiring he was a volunteer at St Joseph Medical Center for twenty-seven years. He was a long time member of St. Terese the Little Flower Catholic Church. "He loved singing, being an absolute hambone."
Jay enjoyed baking, vegetable gardening, ND football and writing poetry.
Visitation will be held from 10:30-12:00pm Funeral services will be at NOON Thursday, April 27 at the McGann Hay Funerals / Cremations / Gatherings, Granger Chapel, 13260 SR 23, enter off Cherry Rd., Rev. Terry Coonan, Pastor at Little Flower, officiating. Burial with Military Honors will follow at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park.
Memorial donations in Julius' memory may be made to Center For Hospice Care or Little Flower Food Bank.
