Karson Carroll Hocker

August 1, 1995 — April 16, 2017

Karson Carroll Hocker, 21, passed away peacefully at home on April14, 2017.
Born August 1, 1995, he was the son of Kim J. and Katherine (Fewell) Hocker. His father, Kim, preceded him in death on December 22, 2016.
Left to cherish his memory are: his mother, Katherine Hocker; sister, Kristine Hocker; and his maternal grandparents, Gene and Mary Lou Fewell, all of Granger; and many loving aunts, uncles and cousins.
Karson survived many odds starting from birth. He was an ECMO #242 survivor, and wasn't expected to live past the age of 2. But God had a different plan for him. He brought joy to this world with his smile, laughter, and hugs. He enjoyed being with his family, watching Wheel of Fortune and Mister Rogers, being around dogs, and laying on his favorite green beanbag. He was dearly loved; and the absence of his sweet spirit leaves a void in his family's hearts.
The family would like to thank his wonderful home nurses and caregivers especially, Lene, Trina, Theresa, Bev and Elaine; and therapists, Hallie and Christy.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 19 from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., with the funeral following at 11:00 a.m. at the McGann Hay, Granger Chapel, 13260 SR 23, enter off Cherry Road. Pastor Reed Anderstrom, from Calvary Baptist Church, will be officiating. Private burial will take place at Oak Ridge Cemetery, Buchanan, Michigan.
Instead of sending flowers, please consider making a donation to the funeral home to help the family cover expenses.
