Kenneth LeRoy Peterson, “Amos”, 78, of Lakeville, IN, passed away peacefully at home on March 21, 2025. He is preceded in death by parents, Kenneth and Mable; and brother John. He was born in La Porte, IN, on October 14, 1946, and was a devoted family man, a proud Army Specialist (1965-1968), and a skilled mechanic in the automotive industry.
Amos was a storyteller at heart, always ready to share a tale or a laugh. He found joy in old Western movies, Elvis Presley, a variety of music, fishing, and fixing up cars. His family was his greatest pride, and he loved them fiercely. He was a devoted and loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, and even great, great grandfather, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and unwavering support. He was an active member of the American Legion Post 363, where he formed lifelong friendships and a second family. After retiring in 2018, he cherished his time with loved ones, creating memories that will live on forever in their hearts.

A celebration of his life will be held on Friday, May 16, 2025, from 5-7 PM at the American Legion Post 363, 214 S. Lake St., Lakeville, IN. His remains have been cremated, as per his wishes.

Amos’ love, wisdom, and humor will be dearly missed but never forgotten. His family finds peace knowing he is now at rest, reunited with those who passed before him.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to The American Legion Post 363.
