Lee Baer Friend

SCOTTSDALE-Lee Baer Friend, formerly of South Bend, passed away May 29, 2022.Born October 21, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Jeanette (Gerson) Baer.She is survived by her brother, Douglas (Karen) Baer; niece, Rachel (Luke) Dolkas; and three grand-nephews: Apollo, Orion and Eros Dolkas, all of Portland, Oregon.Lee enjoyed travel and opera, often combining those two passions. She worked for Variety, the show business newspaper, for many years as a subscription manager until she moved to Chicago, where she met her husband of 25 years, Bob Friend. Although they eventually divorced, they stayed close until Bob's death in 2007. Graveside services will be held Friday June 3rd, at 11:00 a.m. at the Hebrew Orthodox Cemetery in Mishawaka.
