GRANGER – Linda Mary (Burke) Castellanet, 75, of Granger passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side at The Hearth at Juday Creek on Monday at 12:36pm.
Linda was born in Evergreen Park, IL on July 22, 1943 to the late Charles Burke and Mary Elizabeth Burke Schmidt. On May 1, 1965 she married the love of her life and husband to be of 53 years Edward Albert Castellanet who is left to cherish her memory in Granger.
Their marriage was blessed with four loving children: Robin (Tim) Tharp of Mishawaka, Edward A. (Kitty) Castellanet of Chattanooga, TN, David (Anna) Castellanet of South Bend, and Melissa (Jim) Fanelli of Westfield, IN; 11 grandchildren. and two great grandchildren.
Linda loved family, travel, and golf but most profoundly she adored her husband Ed. She poured her heart into all that she did. She was a one-time Mishawaka Metro Golf Champion and frequent participant in the Indiana Women’s State Golf Tournament. She achieved golfs ultimate feat twice knocking in two holes in one. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, Aunt and Sister. Linda was the life of the party and extended her hand in friendship to anyone who would take it.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in her honor at 11am Friday, Aug, 17, with visitation from 10-11am prior to mass at St. Pius X Catholic Church, Fir & SR 23, with Msgr. William Schooler, Pastor, officiating. Thursday there will be visitation from 4-7pm at McGann Hay Funerals /Gatherings / Gatherings, Granger Chapel, 13260 SR 23, enter off Cherry Rd. where a Parish Vigil will be held at 4:45pm.
