Louise E. Lauer, 92, passed away peacefully August 15, 2016 with family by her side. She was born April 18, 1924 in Elkhart, IN. to the late James Fritz and Mildred (Godfrey) Fritz Galbraith.
On May 25, 1945, Louise married the love of her life, Richard K. Lauer, Sr. He preceded her in death. A daughter, Susan Lauer, also preceded her in death.
Left to cherish her memory are her three children, Kathy (John) Majewski of Niles, Richard (Sydia) Lauer of Edwardsburg, and David (Deb) Lauer of Loxahatchee, Florida; five grandchildren, Christine (Mike Summers) Majewski, John (Jennifer) Majewski, Mary (Sam) Shaw, and Dustin and Dylan Lauer; and five great grandsons: Christopher and Matthew Summers, Ryan and J.R. Majewski, and Aden Shaw.
Louise was an active member of the Christ Child Society, and St. Therese Little Flower Catholic Church. She had been an Avon lady (probably visiting more than selling). She enjoyed gardening and reading, but loved spending time with family and friends most of all. She leaves behind a beautiful legacy and she will always be remembered fondly.
The family thanks the wonderful staff at the Center for Hospice Care, especially nurse Victoria; and at Schubert Villa, where she lived for the past three years and made many friends with residents, nurses and caregivers.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorial donations may be made in Louise's name to Hospice or the Christ Child Society, 308 S Scott St, South Bend, IN 46601.To send condolences, please visit www.McGannHay.com.
