GRANGER, IN – Marjorie M. Smith, 94, passed away peacefully December 5, 2018. She was born in South Bend, Nov. 9, 1924, to Adolph and Mary (Blankert) Dutrieux.
Her loving husband of 73 years, William, survives along with their daughter, Marlene (Michael) Tom; son, Wayne (Jeri) Smith; 2 granddaughters, Marla Smith and Raquel (Randy) Muessig; and 4 great-grandchildren, Katerina Theocharides, Remy Muessig, Reese Muessig, and Marcus Theocharides. Also surviving is sister-in-law, Joyce Dutrieux-Magner; along with many nieces and nephews.
Preceding Marge in death were her parents, Adolph and Mary Dutrieux; brothers, Leo, Charles, Marion, and John Dutrieux; and sisters, Louise Meuleman and Emma Jankowski.
Marjorie worked 31 years for Bendix Brake and Steering in cost reduction, and retired in 1982. She and her husband attended Little Flower Catholic Church, where Marjorie was a member of the Senior Circle. She was also a member of the Bendix Retirees Management Club, Steuben County Women's Club, and The Lake James Red Hat Society.
Marjorie kept busy but always took time to spend with family and friends. She will be greatly missed.
Cremation will take place with no services, per Marge's request. A Mass will be said for her at the Cathedral of Notre Dame in Paris, France.
