BERRIEN SPRINGS –Mary Alice (Byers) Kroll closed her eyes and went to sleep peacefully at Chalet home in Niles Michigan January 26, 2019. She was able to say goodbye to family members who visited during the last month.
Mary was born Nov. 26, 1946 the fourth of five children born to Lowell and Willie Kate Byers in Noblesville Indiana. Mary will be truly missed by everyone who knew her as she touched the hearts of many with her wit and charm. Mary was especially close to her sister and three brothers and she will be missed by them. Mary was preceded in death by her: parents, brother Jim, and her first husband Phil Lucas. She is survived by: her husband Sam Kroll of Berrien Springs MI; her daughter Jennifer Kate Kroll of Marathon Florida; her sister Delbe (George) Denda of Berrien Springs MI; brothers: Pete (Pam) Byers, Sharpsville IN, Bill (Kathy) Byers, Candler NC and a number of nieces, nephews and grand-nieces and nephews.
Mary had many talents, singing in the girls quartet and playing the piano in high school, she graduated from Indiana Academy in 1965. Mary loved the outdoors and the beach. With her family she took canoe trips in Quetico and Algonquin provincial parks, the Saint Joe and Kickapoo rivers, the Okefenokee and the Everglades and enjoyed bird watching on all of those trips. She thoroughly enjoyed life. Her Savior has welcomed her home and she is at rest.
Cremation has been arranged through McGann Hay’s American Cremation Society, South Bend.
