SOUTH BEND – Mildred Frances “Pud” VandeMotter, 96, passed away peacefully October 9, 2018 at the Sanctuary of Holy Cross.Born on May 5, 1922 in Cleveland, OH, she was the daughter of the late Francis “Jesse” and Frances (Brassell) Cohagan.
On November 19, 1949, Mildred “Pud” as she was loving known by her family, married the love of her life Vincent Charles VandeMotter who preceded her in death on October 31, 2001. They were blessed with three children: Vincent (Sherry) VandeMotter, Jr. of Peachtree, GA who passed away in November of 2017, Ann (Bill) Voll of Mishawaka, IN and Kurt VandeMotter of Dallas, TX. Ten grandchildren and five great-grandchildren will cherish her memory.
“Pud” was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and woman with a special gift for style and class. She will be fondly remembered also by her caregivers at the Sanctuary.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, October 15 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, South Bend, at 1:00 p.m. Burial will take place at Lakewood Park Cemetery in Rocky River, OH on Tuesday at 1:30pm.
In lieu of flowers and memorial donations the family request prayers for “Pud” in memory of having lived a “good” life.
