Nancy Sharon (Heyn) Leopold

Nancy Sharon (Heyn) Leopold, (83), passed away peacefully at the Sanctuary for Holy Cross on September 2, 2024. Nancy was born August 5, 1941 to the late Frank and Maggie (Bryant) Heyn. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Linda Cascino.

On April 14, 1962 and renewed on April 14, 1988, Nancy married the love of her life, Jon Mathew Leopold who precedes her in death.

Surviving her are sons, Michael (Audry) Leopold, Todd (Carmen) Leopold, and Chris (Camille) McGill; grandchildren, Kurt Purucker, Christine Purucker and Tiffany (Daniel) Madaras; great grandchildren, Elijah, Isaiah, Octavia, Ulaina, Nathan, Summer, and Iris; many loving nieces and nephews; friend, confidant and nurse, Mary. We all appreciate you and your loving kindness.

Early in her marriage we were lucky enough to have Nancy as a stay at home mom. When she transitioned back to work it was as a purchasing agent in the construction industry, although she was most proud of her work at the YWCA helping victims of domestic violence. Nancy loved shopping, cooking, being with family, old movies, bingo, crafting, and of course a cold Miller Lite in a frosted mug. Nancy will be dearly missed by all that knew her.

Per request, cremation will take place with no services being held. Memorial contributions may be made in Nancy’s name, to the YWCA North Central Indiana, 1102 S Fellows St, South Bend, IN 46601.
