Neil Merlin Johnson

Neil Merlin Johnson, passed away peacefully with his children by his side March 1, 2022 at the age of 84. He was born to the late Ersel and Elnora (Woods) Johnson on September 15, 1937 in Bright, Indiana.Neil is survived by his 6 children, Rhonda Devine, Patrick and Charlotte Johnson, Helen and Thomas Gritt, John and Debbie Johnson, Karen and Jim Petty and Mark and Kris Johnson; 18 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren.Neil retired from the Navy after serving his country for 20 years. He loved his family, especially his grandchildren, singing church songs and fishing. He wrote poems and was full of humor. He will be greatly missed.Funeral services for Neil will take place on March 7, 2022 at That Church, 28082 CR 4, Elkhart, at 2 pm, with visitation beginning at 12 pm.
