Norma Jean Miller, 73, entered into a new life peacefully on Monday March 8, 2021 in her home surrounded by her family.She was born May 29, 1947 in Bridgeport, CT to the late Leo and Helen Shuck. She graduated from Bullard Havens Technical High School and attended the University of Bridgeport. She worked for seven years as a hairdresser before moving to Morrison, IL. There she enjoyed being in a theater group, where she performed in Pajama Game, Fiddler on the Roof, and Mama Mia. Norma moved to South Bend and became a realtor with Cressy and Everett where she worked for 27 years. Norma was a devout member of St. Therese Little Flower Catholic Church where she was a member of Parish Council, a Eucharistic Minister, and a Lector. It was at this church where she met her devoted husband, Ron. They spent 33 happy years together traveling and just enjoying life. Some of her other joys in life were gardening, reading, playing games, puzzles, and her cats.The greatest joys of her life would have to be her three sons and the four beautiful granddaughters they gave her, and her great-grandson.She volunteered much of her time to several organizations such as Ronald McDonald House and rocking babies at the NICU at Memorial Hospital. She was a member for 19 years with Tri-Kappa - Epsilon Lambda Chapter, and there, she was the chairperson for Portage Manor. She was also the chairperson for Care and Concerns for P.E.O. Chapter N.Norma is survived by her husband, Ronald Miller; three sons: Derek Walley, Jonathan Walley, and Joel Walley; three daughters-in-law: Rhonda Walley, Heather Addington, and Maurica Heinrich; four granddaughters: Savannah, Maleah, Alora, and Amelia Poppy Walley; and one great-grandson, Jesse Pike.She was preceded in death by her parents, Leo and Helen Shuck; and brothers, Leo and Thomas Shuck.Norma was a true gift to this world and played a huge role in so many people's lives. She will be greatly missed, but we are truly grateful for the time we had with her.The family would like to thank the staff at Memorial Hospital for the excellent care she received.Visitation will be held at St. Therese Little Flower Catholic Church, 54191 Ironwood Rd. South Bend, from 4-7 p.m., on Thursday, March 11, 2021.
