Goshen — Pauline Parkes, 100, passed away peacefully where she was living at Courtyard Healthcare Center, Goshen, IN on November 29, 2018 at 6:50pm just three days before her 101st birthday.Pauline was born to Morris and Lillian (Cohen) Fireman on December 3, 1917 in Philadelphia, PA. Her husband, Jacob "Jack" Parkes, preceded her in death in 1980.Pauline rose through the ranks at the IRS to become a professional Tax Examiner and Troubleshooter.She and Jack had three children: Edward (wife-Carolyn) Parkes of Norristown, PA, Michael (wife-Toni) Parkes of North Wales, PA, and Joan Lee Parkes-Cohen (husband-Stanley Cohen) of Bristol IN.Her three siblings predeceased her.Her memory will be cherished by her children, and their descendants of many generations. She was also loved by friends, caregivers, and many others who knew her throughout her long life.Pauline was a witty, brilliant and talented lady who succeeded at just about anything that she put her mind to. More importantly, she loved and was adored by her family.The loving upbringing she gave her children made them feel secure and unconditionally loved throughout their entire lives. Others should be so lucky to have a mother like Pauline.Funeral Services will be at NOON Monday, December 3rd (her 101st birthday) at the McGann Hay Granger Chapel, 13260 SR 23, (enter off Cherry Rd)., Rabbi Kuppel Lindow of the Midwest Torah Center will officiate. Burial will follow in the Orthodox Section at Rice Cemetery, Elkhart.
