Peggy June DeFronzo, 76, passed away at her home surrounded by her family on February 14, 2024. She was born to the late Raymond Harris and Winifred Beatrice (McCulluough) Turner in Tullahoma, Tennessee.
Peggy is survived by her children, Heather (Brad) Holycross and Tad (Temera) DeFronzo; granddaughters, Kellie and Brandi Holycross; sister, Julie (Joe) Lee; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by husband, Ted; 6 brothers; and 4 sisters.
Peggy was a life-long member and fierce union advocate of the UAW where she worked on telephones and then auto. Peggy was a devoted mother and grandmother. She was both a Girl Scout troupe leader and a Boy Scout Den mother while her children were young. There were no children in her neighborhood that didn’t receive her love; her house was the neighborhood spot to gather. She made it a point to attend all of her granddaughter’s events to cheer them on and show her support. There were few weekends that weren’t spent in the company of her granddaughters as they were growing up. Peggy was an avid collector by having a multiple collection of cuckoo clocks, quilts, and blown glass. It was always a symphony in her house when the clocks would go off at different times. She loved traveling, having seen the Grand Canyon, Niagara Falls, and spending many years taking trips visiting Smoky Mountains Tennessee and Golf Shores Alabama. With her husband, she was a Notre Dame season ticket holder where she attended games for years to cheer on the Irish.
There will be a Celebration of Life at a later date
