Rebecca L. "Becky" Womer

Rebecca “Becky” Womer (Sonneborn), 70, passed away peacefully April 20, 2023 after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born March 26, 1953, she was the daughter of the late Frederick J., II and Bernice (Keb) Sonneborn. She graduated from LaSalle High School, Class of ’71. In 2004, she graduated from Indiana University South Bend with her Bachelor’s in General Studies.

Left to cherish her memory are: three daughters, Pamela (Joseph) Wilfing, Sara (Jason) Hawn and Elizabeth (Dan) DeMeester; brother, Frederick Sonneborn, III; and five grandchildren, Hendrik, Olivia, Julia, Colton, and Sofia along with several close friends.

Becky retired in 2016 after working for 38 years with 1st Source Bank.  She loved Notre Dame sports and attended home games as a season ticket holder specifically to Women’s Basketball and Football. Even after her three girls graduated from Adams High School, she continued to help sell sporting event tickets. Becky was a proud and active member of Granger Community Church where she enjoyed weekly bible study and multiple activities. She enjoyed traveling with her family especially to Disney World.  The most recent trip sailing aboard the Disney Wish and spending time in EPCOT. Becky has always been “mom“ or “mamacita” but most of all she was most proud to be called Oma. She always had a smile on her face, a generous spirit and a positive attitude. She will be dearly missed.

Per her request, private services will be held by the family.
