Rev. Dr. Lloyd Decesaro

SOUTH BEND-Rev. Dr. Lloyd Decesaro, 73, went home to his Heavenly Father on January 13, 2022.Born August 31, 1948 in Effingham, IL, he was the son of the late Jesse and Emma (Stolte) Decesaro. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Dominic Decesaro; sister, Linda Holman; and 4 grandchildren, Savanah, Bethany and Cynthia Gygi, plus one more.He went to Mount Vernon Bible College where he met the love of his life. On June 21, 1969, Lloyd married Sandra Lynn (Gouge) Decesaro. She preceded him in death in 2013. Left to cherish his memory is a daughter, Beth (Chris) Gygi, of South Bend.Lloyd and his wife started Living Word Community Church in South Bend, In., of which he pastored up until 2022. His number one love was the love he had for God and for the Word of God. He loved digging deep into the word. His love for his wife Sandra was next to the love he had for God. She was his Princess. The love between the two was so spectacular. There was none like it. He also enjoyed flying, shooting and was a black belt in karate. He worked at Bloomington High School in Illinois as a custodian for many years while he pastored a church. While in South Bend, he worked at Speed Grip in Elkhart, Indiana. He was also a Professor at Bethel College in Mishawaka, In. He proudly served our Country in the Air Force and was honorably discharged in 1975.Visitation will be held on Monday, January 24, from 1-3 p.m., with the funeral starting at 3:00 p.m., at the McGann Hay, Granger Chapel, 13260 SR 23, enter off Cherry Rd.
