Robert J. “Bob” Golubski, 89, passed away peacefully on December 17, 2020, just ten days after losing his beloved wife of 69 years, Theresa (Horwarth) Golubski.
Born in South Bend on June 5, 1931, he was the son of the late Leo and Verna (Tafelski) Golubski. In addition to his parents and wife, he was also preceded in death by his son, Gregg Golubski; and sisters, Virginia Jankowski and Bernadine Nowicki.
Left to cherish his memory are two daughters, Deb (Barry) Leichtman of Granger, IN and Chris (Bill) Olson of Zionsville, IN; daughter-in-law, Mary Jo Golubski of Carmel, IN; grandsons, Jamie (Angel) Peli of Frisco, TX, Ben (Courtney) Olson of Zionsville, IN, and Matt Golubski of Whitestown, IN; granddaughters, Cassie (Andy) Crabb of O’Fallon, MO and Sarah Golubski of Chicago, IL; and 5 great-grandchildren: Dylan and Colin Peli, Beau Olson, and Taylor and Jameson Crabb.
Bob proudly served in the US Army. As a member of the American legion, he served in the Honor Guard, providing final honors to fallen veterans. Bob retired from the Bendix Corporation after working in various positions during his more than 35 years with the company. He and wife Theresa enjoyed traveling while retired and visited Hawaii, Hilton Head in South Carolina, Florida, Cancun, Arizona and Chicago in addition to numerous trips to Indianapolis. Bob loved fishing, bowling, golf, and playing cards; and he was devoted to his family and friends. Upon learning of his wife’s passing, Bob just wanted to be with her, and 10 days after her death, he got his wish and joined her in Heaven. He and Theresa are dearly missed, but there is comfort in knowing they are now, again, together.
No services are being planned at this time. Memorial contributions may be made, in his name, to the Alzheimer’s Association Greater Indiana Chapter. To send private condolences, please visit www.McGannHay.com
