Robert Hartranft

UNION, MI-Robert Hartranft, 87, passed away peacefully at home on August 21, 2017. He was born September 14, 1929 in Elkhart, IN to the late Maynard and Jeanette (Wolfe) Hartranft.On June 17, 1950, Robert married the love of his life, Carol DeWitt. She survives. To their union, they were blessed with three children, Cheryl Phillips, Janet (Thomas) Redding, and Susan Hartranft. Susan preceded them in death. Also left to cherish his memory are two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.Robert was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He was employed with Miles Lab for over 30 years, and proudly served in the Army Reserves. He was a member of Hillcrest United Methodist, Elkhart; and loved his church family. He will be dearly missed by many.Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 31 at the Hillcrest United Methodist Church from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m., with the memorial service following at 7:00p.m.
