SOUTH BEND-Robert L. "Bob" Klug was born December 11, 1924 to Gus and Mary (Eberly) Klug in Hays, Kansas.After graduating from High School, he enlisted in the US Navy, where he served for three years. He served in the D-Day Invasion on Omaha Beach. After the war, he married JoAnn Kizer and they were blessed with four children: Carolyn (Glenn) Bennett, Candace Hill, Robert (Nancy), and Melissa Klug.Bob graduated from Missouri Mining and Engineering College with a degree in Electrical Engineering. He then went to work for the Caterpillar Tractor Co., and retired after thirty-five years.In July of 2000, he married Libby Currier, and was immediately blessed with a host of step-children; grandchildren; great grandchildren; and great-great grandchildren, all of whom he dearly loved, as they loved him.Bob passed away May 8th, 2018, after he and Libby shared 17 wonderful years together. He was a wonderful Husband, Father, and Grandfather, and will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.Cremation will take place with services at a later date.A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, June 9th from 2 - 5 p.m. at the Elks Lodge #235, 3535 W.
