Robert “Bob” Frank Lux passed away peacefully on Thanksgiving Day at the age of 81. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Marie Lux, a sister Heidi Aranowski, and a grandson, Brock Daniel Hedrick.
Bob is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Linda; his sons, Robert and Kevin (Rattiya) Lux; step-children, Kenneth Hixenbaugh, Sheri (John) Hedrick, Brian ( Billie Jo) Hixenbaugh and Michael (Kelly) Hixenbaugh; and grandchildren, Bryce and Scout (Kenneth); Brock, Michaela, Johnny, Brooke and Braxton (Sheri), Olivia (Brian), Emmett and Samuel (Michael). He very much enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren, and was proud of their many accomplishments.
Bob had many friends who meant so much to him. He felt blessed that they were in his life.
He loved to tell his stories and always wanted to hear theirs.
He worked in radio and television broadcasting for 45 years. He began his radio career in Bay City, MI before joining the Air Force. Bob spent 3 years in Spain interviewing troops and was a disc jockey with Armed Forces Radio.
He began working at WSBT Radio and Television in 1969 as a TV sports anchor, and then hosted an afternoon radio show and ended his career in radio sales.
Bob was a huge Notre Dame football fan and spent many years as the voice of Notre Dame football, producing and hosting pregame shows on WSBT Radio.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Wednesday, November 30, 2022 at 12:30 p.m. with visitation one hour prior at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 52553 N. Fir Rd., Granger, IN.
The family asks that donations be made to the American Cancer Society, American Kidney Association, American Diabetes Association, and Hospice.
