NILES –Ronald “Lee” Holland, 79, of Niles, MI, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center.
He was born on August 28, 1938 in South Bend to the late Ronald Holland and Katherine (Walsh) Dickson. He was also preceded in death by his brother James C.(Darlene) Holland.
On February 6, 1960, Lee eloped with the love of his life, Sandra (Stewart). Lee and Sandy recently celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary. To their union, they were blessed with three children, Kim (Rick) Dukes of Edwardsburg, MI, Jim (Mitzi) Holland of Granger IN, and Jeff (Margot) Holland of Chicago, IL. Lee enjoyed a long, successful career in the Insurance Industry, ultimately becoming a partner/owner in a successful independent agency that is currently known as the Holland Insurance Group. Lee will be greatly missed by many wonderful co-workers, peers, and clients. Lee was a member of Knollwood Country Club for more than forty years. He enjoyed golfing and walking in the woods, which often occurred simultaneously. He most of all enjoyed spending time with his family and friends with little distinction between the two. Lee positively impacted many lives, and always had an entertaining joke or story to tell.
